Nissan Maxima Maintenance Schedule

So, you've just purchased a new Nissan Maxima here in the Avon, Plainfield, and Danville areas. It's driving beautifully, isn't it? And in order to keep it that way, you'll need to stay on top of routine maintenance and repairs.

The Andy Mohr Avon Nissan team whipped up this Nissan Maxima maintenance schedule to show you exactly what needs to be performed at each service interval!

Every 5,000 Miles or 6 Months

After a good half-year has passed with your Maxima (or less, depending on how often you drive), it'll be ready for its first important service appointment. This, like all others on our list, will have to be repeated.

The engine oil and its filter will need to be replaced at this point. And, as a rule of thumb, it's a good idea to have your tires rotated at this time, too. This will ensure the tread of your tires wears evenly.

Every 10,000 Miles or 12 Months

It's been a year at this point. So, after the oil change and tire rotation is all complete, the mechanic should inspect your drive belts, as well. They may have slipped or shifted, in which case they'll need to be readjusted.

Every 20,000 Miles or 2 Years

After two years, the mechanic will want to inspect your EVAP vapor lines and fuel lines to ensure they haven't torn or cracked at all. If so, they could begin to leak, which spells trouble for your Nissan Maxima.

Every 30,000 Miles or 3 Years

The three-year mark is when the air cleaner filter in your car should be replaced completely. Of course, this recommendation is based on typical operating conditions. If you operate your car in mainly dusty conditions, the air cleaner filter will need to be replaced more frequently.

Every 40,000 Miles or 4 Years

Fuel lines, vapor lines, and drive belts will all need to be inspected again, but that's not the only thing happening at this point.

After 40,000 miles, there's a good chance that the tread on your tires has begun to wear down, so have your mechanic take a look. If the tread is below 1/16 of an inch, your tires will need to be replaced. You can order tires online with us or call our Service Center for more information.

Every 60,000 Miles or 6 Years

This mile-marker is most likely to be the time when certain brake components will start to succumb to their wear and tear. Granted, depending on your braking habits or the materials that the components are made from, it may come sooner.

The brake pads are the most likely to be worn thin at this point. If they are, they'll need to be replaced. The rotors may be starting to go, as well.

Every 105,000 Miles of 10.5 Years

Well, this one is quite a milestone, and naturally, extra maintenance is due for your Nissan Maxima.

·       First, you'll want to flush and replace the engine coolant. But, be sure to use only genuine Nissan Long Life Coolant.

·       Next, your spark plugs will certainly need to be replaced at this point.

·       Lastly, you'll want the mechanic to inspect your timing belt, as this may always be ready to go.
