Nissan Rogue Sport Maintenance

While driving around Avon, Plainfield, and Danville, IN, you want to be sure your vehicle is in top condition. Even though many things that can affect your vehicle’s performance—like the weather or road conditions—are out of your hands, you can stay in control by following the recommended maintenance schedule.

At Andy Mohr Avon Nissan, we want to give you this simplified guide to understanding your Nissan Rogue Sport maintenance schedule, so you can be confident in your vehicle every time you hit the road.

Before you Begin

Nissan Rogue Sport

It’s important to understand how different driving conditions can affect your vehicle. If you require a more demanding driving experience, you’ll need to supply slightly more maintenance.

While the below schedule covers standard maintenance for the Nissan Rogue Sport, you may need to follow additional maintenance if you drive in severe conditions, such as:

  • Hot weather
  • Stop-and-go traffic
  • Dusty conditions
  • Repeated short trips of around five miles

Whether your driving habits fall into any of the above categories, or you feel like your driving conditions might be considered severe in another way, consult your driver’s manual to find what additional maintenance your car might need.

Every 5,000 Miles or Six Months

Starting at 5,000 miles, you will want to do the following regularly:

  • Replace engine oil.
  • Replace engine oil filter.
  • Rotate tires.

Getting the tires rotated frequently will help ensure they wear evenly and last longer. Additionally, it’s the perfect time to inspect them and certify they aren’t damaged in any way.

Every 10,000 Miles or 12 Months

Engine Inspection
  • Inspect brake lines and cables.
  • Inspect brake pads.

While you should also inspect the drive belt on your Nissan Rogue Sport once every 10,000 miles, you won’t need to add this to the list until around 40,000 miles or the 4-year mark. After that point, add the drive belt to your yearly inspection, and get it replaced as soon as you notice any visible damage.

Every 20,000 Miles or 24 Months

Continue doing all the above and include:

  • Inspect EVAP vapor lines.
  • Inspect fuel lines.
  • Replace brake fluid.

Between services, keep an eye out for leaks in the brake fluid and contact a service center if you start to have any issues.

Every 30,000 miles or 36 months

Air Filter
  • Replace air cleaner filter.
  • Replace Intelligent Key battery.

While you should check the Intelligent Key battery at 15,000 miles, it will most likely need to be replaced at 30,000 miles.

Odds and Ends

As you follow along with the above maintenance items at regular intervals, your only other major job should be making sure to replace the spark plugs every 105,000 miles.

Additionally, while there isn’t any required maintenance for the intake and exhaust valves, you should check the valve clearance if you notice the valve noise increasing above normal levels.

Schedule Service for Your Nissan Rogue Sport Today

When performing any of your regular inspections, make sure you schedule a service appointment as soon as you notice a problem. In general, if something seems off with your Rogue Sport, it’s best to get it checked out right away, as letting things go can lead to bigger issues further down the line.
